#6 - Finally in the mission field -Sevilla!!

Okay I am not really sure where to start. This is craziness. So I left the CCM and all of my wonderful Hermanas and Elders there so that was a bit tragic but all is well. I took a ton of pictures with everyone so maybe I'll send those. Oh really quick! Remember Tomas? Well he came to the park again! And we made his a birthday card and sang happy birthday. I was so happy to see him. He is definitely getting baptized one day. A lot of the teachers at the CCM are young returned missionaries so they are friend-shipping Tomas and said they will keep me updated for when he gets baptized a haha. Also Tomas added me on FB so Holly or Natalie should get on added do tell him hello hahaha or not that's fine too.

But yeah so Tuesday morning I got on a train to Màlaga with 16 other missionaries, and then went to the capilla for some training and I only met with President Anderson for a small moment and it was lovely. One thing that I love what he said was that as a mission president he has the gift to be able to feel the same kind of love for missionaries as our Heavenly Father does. Idk if that makes sense but he says that while he met with me he could feel that my Heavenly Father loves me very much and that he wanted to express that to me.. And he said it was an overwhelming feeling for him. That was beautiful.

So yes, we found dead out our trainers after that! It was so fun to watch everyone get their trainers. Yeah, hna Spencer and I like ran to each other and just kind of squealed hahaha it was awesome. It was definitely crazy how that happened.

(Here is the back story regarding Hannah and her trainer, Hermana Spencer.)

Lorri  writes:   While Natalie Jacobsmeyer (Hannah's YW President) was on her mission, 30 plus (?) years ago, there was a 15 year old girl, Patty, who would go out with the sister missionaries.   Natalie served in the same mission as Hannah does now.    Well this 15 year old girl grew up, married and moved to New Hampshire and raised a daughter who was called a year ago to this same mission. Before Hannah left, Natalie Jacobsmeyer had told her all about Lucia (daughter of friend) and Natalie had also told Lucia's mother all about Hannah.  So the two Hermana's were joyfully surprised when they were assigned to be a companionship!!  And to top it all off, Natalie Jacobsmeyer has been in Spain staying with Patty, the mom of this Hermana Spencer,  while all this was transpiring.  After Hannah and Lucia ran into each others arms. the mission President asked to hear about how these two Herman knew each other;   he had no idea previously.  Note to  Natalie and Patty... Feel free to comment on this post to add and/or correct any info I may have gotten a little off.

Back to Hannah:  The next day I arrived in Alcalá and we had English class right when we got home. So we went to the capilla to teach English to some members and it was really nice. I love meeting the members here. There are very few but they are great. Alcalá probably has 80,000 people and there are only about 20 ish strong members in our only ward here. So there is definitely some work to do. I was so anxious to get out and talk to people on Thursday but turns out that morning we had weekly planning which takes like 6 hours and then we had Medio día which is like "siesta" so we go in from 2 til 5 to study. So we didn't get to go out contacting til 6 ish. And when we did it was awesome! I was so excited!  We were able to just go and talk and be happy and we found some new investigators!

So here in Sevilla, the letter "s" does not exist. THEY DO NOT PRONOUNCE THEIR S'S AND TALK AT ABOUT 500 MPHIL. OR KPH WHATEVER FLOATS A EUROPEANS BOAT. So for example I heard this one, "etai bien? Eperamo que etei bien"  literally the letter s doesn't exist.but anyway, I was just getting able to understand those in Madrid but here, the accent is incredibly incredibly hard to understand and it can be pretty discouraging. I had so much excitement to talk to people and then it just got hard. So we will see how that goes. So Thursday and Friday were awesome. We contacted had an awesome leccion with some investigators and met with some less actives, but Saturday and Sunday and today are hard. That's all I'll say.

Thank you for the prayers they are needed. Here in Alcalá the missionary work is a bit scattered. The investigators that are on the list all have been taking lessons since last November! . It will be difficult but I think that I have the right desire to make things right here. I don't know how I'll do it but I'm definitely going to be led by the spirit. I have big plans for Alcalá !

One thing that was really funny is that at church on Sunday, the pianist for the postlude for sacrament played "what child is this" IT WAS SO FUNNY HAHAHA

I can't thank you enough for the pictures and letters.  Thanks you for all you have done for me!
This is Elder Perez in case you wanted to see the person you were praying for. hahaha
